Wow…where did this month go? (I think the better question might be, “Where did this year go?” ) Time certainly flies when you are having fun, and the CablesAndKits family sure has had some fun this year.
Today, as an office family, we stopped to celebrate Thanksgiving. Of course it is not a holiday around the office without a little craziness included, so we also had a Turkey Calling contest as well. This was hilarious to watch and listen to, as well! Congrats to our winners Mandy and Jon!
As you can see from the pictures below, we had all kinds of food to stuff ourselves with, and most of us regretted going back for the second (and some a third) plate-full.
We apologize if you called the office and nobody answered in the afternoon; we were all comatose from eating too much!
The CnK family did something along with our lunch this year that I thought was pretty cool. For every dish that a person signed up to bring, they were asked to bring a second dish (same food and amount) that we delivered to the Gwinnett Children’s Shelter. I love being a part of a business that not only takes care of its employees, but looks to help take care of the community and those in need around us. This is my first Thanksgiving and Holiday Season with the business, and I have to say I am very thankful to be a part of such a caring community of people. Not only do these people work hard and strive to do everything with excellence, but they keep everything in perspective and truly care for each other and the well-being of those around us, as well. I am grateful to be a part of a company that takes care of “business”, but sees the bigger picture as well. That might be a lost art in many businesses today.
This is the perfect time of year to stop, reflect on the important things, and look at what you are thankful for in life. In doing so, I asked several of our staff here at CablesAndKits the question, “What are you thankful for this year?”, and here are some of their responses:
Grace, Family and second chances. – Dan
I am thankful for our freedom and the brave men and women who fight for it. The sacrifices they make are many. We stand behind and support our hero’s overseas and their families back home. Oh, and I’m thankful for bacon. It’s the bestest meat. – Jonathan
I am thankful to be surrounded by such an amazing family; both at home and work. – Mandy
I am grateful for the growth of our company this past year in spite of the economic conditions and for the relationships I have with the people I get to spend my days with. I am grateful that the vision I “caught” during my interview becomes more real each day. – Susan
I am thankful for family, friends, awesome coworkers and the abundant grace that saves. And pumpkin pie. 🙂 – Kelly
I am thankful for a God who always makes me feel loved and secure. I am thankful for my new granddaughter and the one due in February. I am thankful for my husband, three sons, 2 daughters-in-law and grandson. – Dianne
My friends, family and pets. – Kyle
I have a little baby girl due in February. There is no greater blessing the world for my wife and I to share! – Martin
