As a company, we love serving our community in many different ways. In the past, we have done several hands-on projects, raised money, and collected food for various agencies. Of course, there are many people who need and ask for help, but the minute two young men approached me about supporting the North Gwinnett Robotics Club, I knew I had to bring it before the owners. Why did we choose to support them, you ask?
Well, we sell networking equipment and accessories, mostly Cisco®. Due to the nature of our business, we attract team members that live for and love technology. Anyhow, right when I laid eyes on my robotic-engineering friends, as an HR recruiter, I saw technology-driven, smart, inquisitive, creative, reliable, future employees. Not only that, but they used good grammar and spelling in their emails and letters!
As a matter of fact, I may have spotted our future CEO!!
A picture is worth a thousand words, so check this out:
On the left is our current fearless leader, and CEO, Craig Haynie, or as I call him: The Entrepreneur Deluxe; on the right, one of the Robotics Team members who was kind enough to deliver a plaque, which we proudly display in our lobby. Is it just me, or is there a very striking resemblance here!?! This was truly an unplanned meeting, and check out the clothing, the socks, and even the smiles on their faces! Spooky, huh?
Seriously though, we are so proud of the North Gwinnett Robotics team! They got first place in The Peachtree Regional competition and advanced to the semi-finals in the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics World Championships! Although they were eventually defeated there, (due to technical difficulties) we are so very proud of them! Go TEAM!
