Collaborate, Expand, and Scale with Cisco 8800 Series VoIP Phones

Many businesses, small and large alike, are making the switch over from analog to VoIP phones for a variety of reasons. From increased security to enhanced call quality, VoIP phones are an excellent choice for voice communication. The Cisco 8800 Series is Cisco’s next-generation line of VoIP phones that includes many advanced features that allow you to easily collaborate, expand, and scale, thus leading to increased efficiency and productivity for you and your team. We will take a closer look at some of these advanced features and how they can benefit you.

Mobile Integration

Many of the phones in the Cisco 8800 series include Cisco Intelligent Proximity for Mobile Voice. This advanced telephony feature allows you to integrate your personal mobile devices with your Cisco VoIP phone. Cisco Intelligent Proximity uses Bluetooth technology to allow you to automatically pair your mobile devices such as smart phones, tablets, and laptops. This feature works with both Apple and Android devices. Once a device is paired, you can easily transfer your voice calls from your smartphone to your desk phone to enjoy the high quality wideband audio provided by the Cisco 8800 series phones. In addition, you can import contacts and call history from your mobile devices right to your VoIP phone. Intelligent Proximity is a unique feature that allows you to work more freely and improves your meeting experience.

Key Expansion Modules

Select phones in the 8800 series also allow for the use of Key Expansion Modules. These optional accessories, also known as “sidecars,” allow you to literally expand your phone by adding 18 additional physical keys per module. These keys can be customized and used as additional line appearances, speed dials, or programmable buttons. The expansion module enhances your ability to keep track of calls in progress, calls on hold, and calls that require transfer. In addition to the 18 physical keys, these modules provide for 18 more soft keys – that’s 36 total keys per module! Further, some phones allow you to add up to 2 key expansion modules. One model, the CP-8861, even allows the addition of 3 key expansion modules – that means you get a total of 108 additional keys!

Wireless Option

The 8800 Series not only includes a wide variety of desk phones and conference phones, but it also includes a wireless option to suit the needs of those who work in a Wireless LAN campus. The CP-8821 phones allow highly mobile workers to stay connected throughout their day. These phones are an excellent solution for a wide variety of physically active employees in a wide variety of industries:

  • Healthcare: Doctors, Nurses, Technicians
  • Retail: Customer Service, Warehouse Employees
  • Manufacturing: Operations Personnel, Engineering Personnel
  • Cruise Ships: Service Staff, Maids, Hospitality, Crew

Conference Phone Mics

Both conference phones in the 8800 Series provide excellent 360° call quality and range suitable for small offices and conference rooms, however this range can be expanded even further by utilizing optional wired or wireless microphone extension kits. The wired option for the 8831 phone provides even coverage around the periphery of the device and extends the operational range with an additional 7 feet of reach. The wireless microphone for the 8831 extends the range up to 300 feet! The 8832 phone also has a wired option that can cover a 20×34 foot room with up to 22 participants. The 8832 wireless option can cover a 20×40 foot room with up to 26 participants. It’s easy to see how these microphones allow you to more easily expand and collaborate!
