Happy Thursday!
Welcome to the CablesAndKits CEO daily email. Read more about this email by scrolling to the very bottom.
Did you hear that the zip lock bag broke up with the Saran wrap? Too clingy.
I make up and say dumb jokes all the time. Sometimes I get lucky and find a funny one. Me and the family went to Chili’s for dinner tonight. The server took my order – a steak with salad. I asked for balsamic vinaigrette dressing. She said “how do you want that cooked?”. I said “you cook the vinaigrette?” She laughed. My wife just stared at me. She said I was like Burt in Mary Poppins with the entire band of instruments on his back – I can make the jokes, say the jokes, and laugh at the jokes and I don’t even need anyone else. Haha … she’s right. As long as I have fun telling the joke I don’t think I care if anyone else laughs :-D.
I think I find the greatest joy in finding the humor in everything, and I mean everything. My mind instantly goes to a movie scene, a comedy routine, or just the irony or pun hiding in everything. I do everything else because I have to – haha. I think in another life I would have been a writer in a comedy series or an actor in an ensemble group like Seinfeld. I would have been Kramer … maybe Jerry but let’s not get too big headed.
Sometimes I encounter people and I think “Why so serious? You’re gonna blow a gasket. Ease up … find something to laugh about”. I cannot imagine a life where there wasn’t comedy. I cannot go a day without making a joke or a movie reference or observing a pun. Ask anyone around me. In fact (here comes a movie reference), in meetings, if I observe or think of something funny I will almost always interrupt the meeting to make the joke. Sometimes I have to contain myself but it’s a lot like this if I do ….. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDsgkRW2hDA
“No toon can resist the old shave and a haircut”. I cannot resist telling a joke or pointing out a pun. If I worked in corporate America I am sure I would have been fired 10 times by now. I’m sure my leadership team fantasizes about firing me all the time, or worse.
I think we have to lighten up in life. There is so much to be uptight about but let’s leave that to others. “Ain’t nobody got time for that“. I am not saying there is not a time to be serious, but let’s enjoy this one life we have to live.
Website update from Jason:
Hey everyone, just wanted to drop a note in here to update you on a few things going on here at CK over the next few months.
Over the past year, we have been working on a brand spanking new website for all of you. While this has been a crazy (LONG) adventure, we know it will be worth it for our customers. There will be a lot of new bells and whistles on the site and a lot of things that many of you have asked for. Some things will be very different but for the most part we have tried to keep things as close as possible to the look and feel of the current site (for now). We are very excited about this!
One area that will be getting a major upgrade and overhaul is our CK Learning Center. Even though this area of the site is still relatively new, it has quickly become one of the most visited areas on our whole site. (This does my heart good!) Actually one of our articles has absolutely taken off like wildfire, “What is a Cat8 Ethernet Cable and How is it Different?“, but we have several other articles that have received some notoriety lately, “Best Cities for IT Graduates” & “5 Uses for Cables in the Zombie Apocalypse“.
SO, I would like to ask…what topics would you like for us to write about or that you think would be helpful for our customers or just IT folks everywhere? If you have any ideas or thoughts for article topics, please feel free to shoot an email to me at [email protected].
Thanks in advance!
Jason

Monica Prayer Update:
I heard from Wallace today. He said Monica is out of rehab and home which is a big praise. However, they both have some challenging times ahead on the continued road to recovery. Please continue to keep them both in your prayers!
I hope you are enjoying these emails. If you are, I appreciate it when you let me know! If not, or if you have ideas for how to improve, by all means, please let me know! Sometimes I “can’t see the forest for the trees”.
As always, please let me know how I can be of service to you. If you need assistance with something, advice, or even if you just need someone to pray for you, I am here and listening.
Blessings,
