Note that the image is not 100% accurate. What you see that is blue will be white with no writing. The blue thing looks stupid to me. Who wants to walk around with a billboard on their head?? Tip of the Day
Take this opportunity to evaluate not only what you do, but how you do it. We are changing SO much at CK right now. It started because we were FORCED to change, but now that we are in the mode of change, the entrepreneur in me has come alive like it hasn’t since a decade ago. Things that start for one reason sometimes continue for another. Look at what you might should continue, or perhaps what changes you should embrace.
Tee Hee Hee
We had a virtual farewell party today via video for a co-worker that is going into a different field. That was the first time we had done such a thing, but it worked out pretty well! On the call we had about 20 of our staff saying a word or two, and the whole thing was a constant laugh fest. We have a VERY fun culture and are always playing pranks on each other and making jokes, etc. There were so many great stories of pranks and jokes and competitions – but one of my personal favorites is when I hid under his desk under a blanket until he came in. I leapt out and yelled and he about died haha. Good times. Always lean into enjoying the life you are living. You only have one!

Update: Nothing new to report. Let me know if you need anything you don’t see. I am probably dropping or reworking this section soon in place of something else. What would you like to see? New products? Other ideas?
New products in the works: Small (4-6 port) PoE Switches, Webcams, HDMI Cables, HDMI Splitters/Switches, USB Ethernet Adapters, USB-C Hubs, USB-C HDMI Adapters. I would LOVE your opinions as we work to research and add these items. (Or what other items you’d like to see us add?)

Today’s COVID-19 Updates:
- Over 1,052,000 people worldwide have recovered and over 155,000 people in the US have recovered! This is AWESOME news!
- 31 – the number of US states that will be opened at least to some degree through this weekend.
- 1.5 million: the number of doses of remdesivir to be given away for free by its maker if the FDA approves the drug for emergency use. Some trials suggest that it improves recovery time.
- 3.8 million: the number of new unemployment claims filed last week.
- Action figures from Mattel honor medical workers, delivery drivers, and EMTs. Proceeds will go to the #FirstRespondersFirst fund, which supplies essential gear to healthcare workers. https://www.mattel.com/en-us/playroom-thankyouheroes
- Amazon, Instacart, Whole Foods, Target are supposed to be hit by a mass strike today. Workers are protesting lack of safety measures and pay.
- New York City subway trains will be disinfected every night starting next week. The NYC service runs 24 hours a day; most subway systems do not. The four-hour nightly shutdown for cleaning is believed to be the first system-wide halt since the creation of the Metropolitan Transport Authority in 1952
- South Korea says reported “reinfections” actually were false positives. The country now says that the virus has a “half-life” of several weeks/months and that the “reinfection” reports were based on these remaining particles of virus in people who had a confirmed case but had recovered. Some 250+ people in South Korea had been reported as reinfected, but it appears that they simply have residual virus in their systems.
