What word comes to mind when you think of CablesAndKits? For me, it is the word “random”. I think it applies very well! You might look at the picture above and think to yourself, “What in the world?” I look at the picture above and think, “Just a typical day at the CK office.” What better way to express our randomness and fun than our version of the social phenom Harlem Shake! We will affectionately call it the CK Jig!  To view our version of the Harlem Shake click HERE.

Another case of randomness – which seems to be a theme around here this week.  Here we have two members of our

It was that special day of the year where there was an abundance of chocolate, love, and flowers everywhere…Valentine’s Day! (Or for all of those singles out there… Singles Awareness Day.) We decided to help “set the mood” in server rooms all across the world with a few of our own CK Valentine’s Day cards, which seemed to be a hit on our Facebook & Twitter pages.

Four of us went to a conference this week in sunny Orlando. We got to hear from some amazing speakers and meet some awesome people, but of course the a trip to Orlando would be crazy without a Disney experience. With that in mind, we decided to hit up four Disney parks in one

This week (actually today) we celebrated the 32nd birthday of Chris, our E-Commerce Director. He tried to let it fly under the radar and not draw much attention to it, but we couldn’t let that happen! I will say this is probably the most random office decorating that I have seen here at CK. It has a little bit of everything, but I have to confess I have no clue what is up with the Little Mermaid head with Micky Mouse ears on it.  That is just kind of creepy. Happy birthday, Chris!

This week we started renovating our current breakroom into a conference room (pictures to come in a future blog) and we began building a new breakroom in our warehouse area. We got some nifty new cabinets and we

Today we celebrated the upcoming Super Bowl weekend by having a “Healthy Food” Super Bowl party sponsored by the CK Wellness Team.  There was an AMAZING spread of food including guacamole, salsa, veggies and dip, even a chocolate cupcake with only 105 calories!  On a side note, for those of us who wanted to splurge a bit, there was an awesome buffalo cheese dip as well! Big thanks to the Wellness Team for inspiring the healthy food day!

Brian, from our Purchasing department, has mentioned to everyone how bad he needs a laptop here at the office. It seems his fellow co-workers helped him out with a

It’s Fun Hat Friday (FHF) here at the CK office! We have some very creative (and weird – yes, we can say that because we have embraced it) people here at the office.  Always a fun time around here! Which hat is your favorite? Have any recommendations for hats for the next FHF?

It was a very eventful week here at the CK office! Lots of hype, lots of work and lots of weather…

On Wednesday, we had our first Quarterly meeting of 2013! It was an absolute blast!  As you can see from the picture, our theme for this year is a “building/construction” theme – we are looking to build CablesAndKits into the best it can be and truly become ‘Experts in Awesome” in every way possible to better support and take care of our customers! This quarter we are starting it off right by laying the foundation and “Doing the Right Things”. It is going to be an exciting year here at CK.

Our “rock star” Sales Director celebrated his 40th birthday this week!  He is getting a little slow in his old age, so we had to put up a

Hey you there… yeah you! The one reading this blog!

We have started a weekly blog in pictures to recap all (well, at least a taste of) the awesome stuff that’s happened here at CK during the week. Every Friday we will post new photos to recap the awesomeness, so stay tuned and enjoy the ride!

Core Values…We talk about them around our office.  Phrases like “What’s at your core?” can be heard and repeated until they blend into the background noise.  Sadly, sometimes we simply dismiss these phrases because we assume what they voice are present.  In this case, association does not result in manifestation.  In order to embody our Core Values it requires taking the words off the page and living them out.  It involves getting hands dirty and tough conversations.  This is how you differentiate an idea from a lifestyle.

Among the values we hold at CK, the one that’s more central, pivotal, and resonates the deepest and loudest within me is Service.  The act of serving, loving, supporting and just being there for those around you, both inside and outside your immediate circle of influence, is a way to demonstrate and live out Service.  At CK we put action to our beliefs through projects and initiatives designed to express this.  Projects like the one we recently completed with Street Grace.

Street Grace is an organization that fights the commercial sexual exploitation of children. They mobilize resources, advocacy, prevention, and restoration. Prevention is always better than a cure. That’s why Street Grace maintains a network of resources, mainly in the form of facilities which provide environments and situations designed to mitigate the chances children will end up on the streets and in the sex trade. In part, the organization does this through homes that provide safety, securi

Once again, CablesandKits has hit another milestone in growth…our best sales month ever! Whether it’s having a cookout that ends with sumo wrestling competitions or zip-lining 50 feet up in the air, the leadership team at CK always finds unique and fun ways to celebrate.

On this occasion, the CK crew played pirates at the Laser Voyage Café. Unlike the pirates of old, we were armed with lasers and fought our cutthroat-style battle in a shadowy and foggy arena. I don’t know what was more fun, shooting at co-workers or watching our CEO Craig run around tagging employees like a madman!

Along with enjoying bouts in the laser arena, we entertained ourselves in the arcade and relived childhood games such as Whac-A-Mole, Skee ball, racing and hunting simulators and hoops. There was even a timed “Laser Maze” that looked like something straight out of “Mission Impossible.” The objective is to get to the other side of a room full of lasers and not trip one. To make it even more challenging, once you reach

What’s red, white and cool all over? Our totally decked out “experts in awesome” wheels, which rolled into our company meeting on August 1 and rocked everyone’s world!

If you live in the ATL, look for our “awesomeness in motion” at industry events or just zipping around town. It’s kind of hard to miss…and the best news is, it’s only the first of many cool things to come from CablesAndKits.

Oh, and by the way…you may have also noticed a new face on our car, our website and in our e-newsletters. It’s the fantastic CablesAndKits flying robot monkey!

As developed expressly for CablesAndKits by our friends at Mighty 8th Media, our robot monkey is the personification of our “experts in awesome” culture: Slightly mischievous, yet fully engaged in serving our customers’ needs.

He was made to be a friendly, approachable friend who’s technologically savvy and always there for you…just like CablesAndKits.

Sometimes he’ll be front and center to draw your attention to great deals—and other times, you’ll notice him just frolicking in the background.

As he and his jetpack landed mysteriously at our warehouse recently, we really don’t know a whole lot about him yet. We DO know that he comes from a faraway place and possibly a different time, but really that’s about all for now. Stay tuned and we’ll all get to know him in the days to come!

And hey, if you are not following us on FacebookTwitter, Google+ or Linked In, please do, so you can stay up-to-date with all of the latest and greatest shenanigans around the office, and cool deals and specials we keep rollin’ out for you!
