Refurbished technology has made its mark in the technology field and has left a question in everyone’s mind; should I buy something refurbished? What does refurbished actually mean? Why buy refurbished, if I can buy new?

I’ll admit that I was skeptical of using anything refurbished, but it wasn’t until I understood the quality and warranty that came along with buying refurbished at a cost-effective price.

Let’s take a look at why refurbished Cisco VOIP phones (oh, and other types of equipment) are the way to go:

Quality: It’s practically brand new!

A refurbished product is simply a product that has been gently used and may have some almost unrecognizable wear and tear on it. CablesAndKits assures the quality of each refurbished Cisco VOIP phone, and we pride ourselves on the standard of each product. At times, we receive phones that have a minor defect that our testing technician will inspect and fix to bring it back to brand new standards. Our phone refurbishing process reinforces the quality of each phone that is sold.

Cost Effectiveness: Who doesn’t like to save money?

The average cost savings for a consumer when buying a refurbished product is about 40%. So if you have a phone system upgrade project estimated to cost $10,000, you could’ve budgeted for $6,000 by buying refurbished. Imagine what other projects you could add in the budget with all that extra money! Purchasing refurbished Cisco phones is the answer to getting the biggest bang for your buck and accomplishing your mission of receiving an awesome VOIP phone system for your business.

Lifetime Warranty: Awesome is guaranteed!

We test and certify all Cisco VOIP phones that come from CablesAndKits. With risk-free purchasing and hassle-free returns, awesome is guaranteed.  Test out the phones and if you decide they are not right for you, we’ll take them back and refund your money. CablesAndKits will also provide a lifetime advance replacement, just in case your phone experiences a malfunction or failure during the full lifetime of your ownership. Our customer service members will even expedite the shipment so you will not have to worry about an extended downtime.

So, as you can see purchasing refurbished, pre-owned equipment is not scary at all. It has great benefits for your business as well as your “budget and support” sanity. If you still have questions about purchasing refurbished items, shoot us an email or give us a call. We would love to chat with you and find the best solution to meet your needs today.

InfoG-Phones

Ever wondered what process the refurbished phones go through. We put our phones through an extensive process to refurbish and make new. The phones go through a 4 step process to ensure each phone is up to code and satisfaction.

CablesAndKits takes phones that have been gently cared for in the past and brings them up to speed.  The inspection team physically inspects each phone by its physical appearance and its ability to perform its job. Each phone goes through testing and if all is well, they are reset back to factory defaults. If the phone passes its test, it will go to the

Earth-Day2015a

April 22, 2015 marks the 25th anniversary of Earth Day, a day we celebrate the birth of the modern environmental movement.  Today we celebrate Mother Nature and highlight the different ways we can help save the planet in our daily lives while working for any tech-savvy company.

Here are five steps you can take to help save the Earth and build sustainability into your daily operations:

  1. Switch computers off at the end of the day
  • Computers should be turned off at the close of business and on weekends to save energy. According to IBM, by telling their employees to turn off their computers for at least one hour each day, can save the company $1 million per year in energy cost.
  1. Use recycled paper and double side Printing
  • Using recycled paper not only saves trees but it also helps to save energy, water and landfill paper. The recycled paper produces less pollution that is essential for a healthy environment. In efforts to save trees, double side printing will be a great start. By using half the amount of printing paper, you will in turn save some money while being eco-friendly.
  1. Use the Cloud
  • The cloud is a network of servers that can store all your saved documents and data with accessibility from anywhere.  The cloud gives you the capability to share documents with coworkers without having to print. Using the cloud gives you the opportunity to save energy and the earth by reducing the need to print documents.
  1. Source energy efficient servers and VOIP Phones
  • Brands such as Cisco provide a program named EnergyWise on their products that measure and control energy between the network devices and endpoints. Company’s such as CablesAndKits offer products that are energy efficient to helpful in more than the intended reason.
  1. Use a laptop instead of a desktop computer
  • Laptops use less power than a desktop. Most desktops consume between 70 and 200 watts while in use, while laptops use between 15 and 60 watts. Laptops tend to use less electricity than a desktop in turns uses less energy.

Many times we overlook the one thing that can be a huge energy drain- our computers. Let’s help out our beautiful world and make a difference!

Marketing Fish Friends

We have some awesome new little friends in the Marketing / Technology area here at the office. We have a fish tank now where we have 4 friends living. Their names are G-Bic, Router, Shin, and Redd. As you can see we took advantage of the area to continue showcasing our fascination of Legos – Aquaman and Merman are hanging with them in the shipwreck. Say hello to our little friends!

Q2 Planning Meeting

This week we had our Q2 planning session.  I must say, the view and environment at the place we had the meeting this time around were outstanding! We met in the boardroom at the Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center. This was probably one of the most

The Tale of 2 CablesAndKits

If you were anywhere near the South or East coast then you experienced what some of us at CablesAndKits experienced… snow and lots of it! This is the tale of two CK’s… all those at the office felt Old Man Winter’s sting when it started snowing and icing on Tuesday, while a few of us were at a conference this week enjoying some awesome, sunny, 80 degree weather. You can see this reflected in the pictures above from when the snow started falling at the CK office and then a couple of pics I sent back to the office from the conference. (I am mean, I know. And yes, my life has been threatened.) We ended up with anywhere from 4 inches to 8 inches of snow. It is mostly gone now and everything is back to normal!

Q2 Meeting

Well it was that time again, time for the Quarter 2 kick-off meeting! It is always a blast at these meetings…never a dull moment.  This time around we kicked it off with some Chick-fil-a biscuits and then everyone got ready to get to work and start “framing up” with their Home Depot aprons. This quarter our theme is Framing Up.  We have laid the foundations now we are starting to  build the walls around becoming Experts in Awesome.  We did a quick review of last quarter and what we were able to accomplish,  we also recognized our first set of Gold Star core value award winners for Q1:  It was a great meeting rolling out the plans for the quarter.  We are going to be busy, but our customers and community are going to reap the benefits!

CK Preppy Day

Well, I figured I would start it out with a bang this week! Part of the office celebrated CK Preppy Day this week. Trust me when I say these guys took this seriously and it was an all out competition.  One guy, Kyle (one of our Sales Account Managers), decide he was not dressed good enough so he went home and had a “costume change” and brought back his golf clubs to kick it up a notch, and then to trump everyone else he went and did a prep photo shoot at the lake.  Kyle did win best overall…Congrats Kyle! Around CK it is either go big or go home, even when it comes to CK Preppy Day.

Warehouse

We have this new fad in our warehouse that started up this week.  It seems most of the guys back there have acquired scooters and are using them to get around – not just in

You remember us talking about LEGO being so kind and giving a few LEGO construction guys to us to use with our yearly business theme (go HERE to see info about the theme), well we passed the little guys out this week to the staff, along with our new Core Value cards.  It seems that, unbeknownst to us, the little LEGO guys have made themselves right at home around office and settled into a daily routine of doing typical office things around here like fishing in the fish tank, bench pressing cars, taking naps, and umm…other “normal tasks”…sigh. I think they fit in very well around here.

Speaking of Core Values, we rolled out another cool thing around the office this week. We now have a Core Values – Wall of Fame.  The basis for this is that anyone in the company can submit the name of a co-worker, along with the reason why, to be recognized for

What word comes to mind when you think of CablesAndKits? For me, it is the word “random”. I think it applies very well! You might look at the picture above and think to yourself, “What in the world?” I look at the picture above and think, “Just a typical day at the CK office.” What better way to express our randomness and fun than our version of the social phenom Harlem Shake! We will affectionately call it the CK Jig!  To view our version of the Harlem Shake click HERE.

Another case of randomness – which seems to be a theme around here this week.  Here we have two members of our
